Human-Mammal Ecological Dynamics Through Ancient Sedimentary DNA
Evolution is driven by environmental factors, including interactions between different types of organisms sharing a habitat.
Here, we are attempting to reconstruct past ecosystems from ancient mammalian DNA to understand the resources, diet, and landscapes of past humans, offering a greater understanding of their evolutionary journey.
Such discoveries would inform better modern conservation practices.
My involvement in Engineering Ambassadors and similar community engagement programs through the Society of Women Engineers fuels my passion for educational outreach efforts. Throughout my career, I intend to use community outreach to bring greater awareness to wildlife conservation.
